Raw Material Procurement & Manufacturing: Source raw materials (e.g., bar stock, sheet stock, tubing) for aerospace engine components, ensuring compliance with Pratt & Whitney's quality standards, LCS specifications, material thickness requirements, and AMS designations for heat treatment and chemical composition.
Supplier Quoting & Negotiation: Obtain competitive quotes from multiple suppliers, negotiate pricing and volume discounts, and coordinate staggered delivery schedules with production teams to optimize cash flow while upholding quality standards. Build and maintain a network of reliable vendors through direct engagement with field representatives.
Manufacturing & Factory Supplies: Manage procurement of shop essentials, including abrasives, drills, end mills, fixtures, coolant, oils, safety gear, and janitorial supplies, based on department requisitions. Implement blanket orders and automated tool cribs to secure high-volume discounts, minimizing costs while ensuring consistent production readiness.
Equipment & Maintenance Oversight: Oversee procurement of machinery, including specification reviews, shipping logistics, and electrical installations. Collaborate with maintenance, plant management, and the VP of Manufacturing to manage service agreements, ensuring operational efficiency and component quality.
Cost Savings & Process Efficiency: Identify cost-saving opportunities by evaluating alternative products, securing free samples for departmental testing, and diversifying suppliers to mitigate dependency risks, consistently balancing cost reduction with quality compliance.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with production, quality, and maintenance teams to deliver materials and tools that enhance workflow efficiency, enabling welders, machinists, and management to focus on their core responsibilities with confidence in my support.
