• Honeywell purchased a company in Sarasota Florida. Even though low senior I was selected to spend a week for training on new machines. Worked with engineering to get them running when they arrived

• Company Overview: Reg Ellen is a "Job Shop," mostly short running jobs, only 5 to 10 parts per order. This incorporated as many set ups per day as I could.

• Company Overview: Proto Cutter manufactures reamers, end mills and other carbide round tooling. Proto-Cutter also provides the sharpening and rebuilding of a wide variety of tools for all kinds of machining.
• Job Duties
• First introduction to carbide grades, cutter geometries and clearance angles
• Work on a variety of different machines, O.D.Grinders, ANCA, Bridgeport, Manual mills
• Meeting customers' requirements by manufacturing quality products to print tolerances
• Tolerances to +/- .00005 requirements.
• Using and understanding gages to maintain these tolerances
• Introduced me to metal removal processes, turning, milling and grinding.
• Different characteristics of solid carbide, carbide tipped, and high-speed tooling all
• For 4 years Proto Cutter provided me a position of outside sales / technical support
• First interaction meeting with customers personally. I learned and enjoyed the sales side of the business.
• Previous experience and training has provided me the understanding of general functions, capacities, and capabilities of many CNC machines. Ingersoll helped me better understand carbide grades, chip breakers and materials being machined. I have relationships with many customers. I believe documenting what I do helps instill the relationship. Generating cost savings for the customer is also key to these relationships.
