  • Promotes the prevention, detection, and resolution of instances of conduct that do not conform to federal or state law, as well as to internal policies, procedures, and program requirements.
  • Provides input for the revision of policies and procedures for the general operation of the Program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
  • Remains cognizant of current and changing regulatory compliance requirements from federal and state agencies.
  • Assists in maintaining an effective compliance communication program, including promoting (a) use of the Compliance Hotline; (b) heightened awareness of Standards of Conduct, and (c) understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures.

  • Monitor and evaluate the admissions process in each home to ensure adherence to proper admissions procedures and all applicable DMVA, BVH, Commonwealth, and Federal policies, rules, regulations, and laws governing admissions.
  • Collaborate with homes’ Admissions and Marketing Coordinators and other key homes’ personnel to develop, analyze, and enhance admissions’ program policies and operating procedures.
  • Acquire and analyze industry trends to develop recommendations for the enhancement of existing services or the development of new services to obtain and maintain a competitive advantage in the long-term nursing care market.

  • Provide individualized and group feedback regarding marketing and admissions performance.
  • Conduct regular video conferences with homes’ Admissions and Marketing Coordinators to discuss issues, questions, and concerns.

  • Plan and conduct an annual Admissions and Marketing Coordinator conference to provide training, share ideas, and plan/review marketing plan and admissions goals.

  • Develop the Bureau’s statewide strategic marketing plan in collaboration with BVH central office management staff, key homes’ personnel, and the six homes’ Admissions and Marketing Coordinators to promote admissions at the Department’s Veterans’ homes.
  • Obtain approval for the marketing plan and related initiatives through liaison with the Public Affairs Office.
  • Develop marketing materials, public relations campaigns, and other measures in conjunction with BVH staff and the Public Affairs Office to maximize public exposure and broaden public knowledge of the state Veterans’ homes.
  • Represent the BVH at public events, trade shows, conferences, and meetings of Veterans’ organizations to build rapport throughout the Veterans’ community.
  • Conduct presentations to elicit support for BVH initiatives and to promote referrals to the homes.
  • Gather market information and perform research of market trends in long term nursing care to better tailor marketing and sales approaches in promoting admissions to the state Veterans’ homes.
  • Review and approve individual home’s local marketing plans.
  • Recommend enhancements and modifications to the individual plans to ensure alignment and integration with the Bureau’s overall strategic plan.
