Summary

Twenty years in the field of education has cultivated, within me, a deeply-rooted and unyielding passion for serving students and families. The skills which I feel I have most significantly honed are those required to build and maintain meaningful relationships. Throughout my years as an educator, administrator, and organizational leader, these skills have allowed me to excel with conflict resolution and communication amongst students, families, faculty, staff, and administrators. These relationships revealed a strong need I had to not only exhibit servant leadership, but also to advocate fiercely for those who could not do so for themselves. I practiced and perfected skills that provided avenues for students and families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, such as connecting them with necessary resources, and removed barriers to their success both inside and outside of school walls. My work has shaped me, as an individual, into someone who knows the value of an education and can consistently develop, implement, and execute programs that both improve the educational experience for all students and help that experience carry over into the lives of their families and futures.
