Science minded worker with a passion for biology and a desire for further education.
Experience working with a variety of chemical analytical techniques and machines. Such machines and tests include: viscometers, Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES) for both oil and water based substances, gas chromatography, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Karl Fischer titration, refractometers, total dissolved solids and conductivity probe measurements, carboxylic acid tests, nitrite measurements, acid and base auto-titrators, as well as the handling and/or mixing of chemicals such as chromic-sulfuric acid, nitric acid, methylene chloride (DCM), toluene, heptane, isopropanol, and hydrochloric acid.
Experience with multi tasking, testing quotas, and maintenance of aforementioned machines.
Resorted and analyzed field ornithological observation data from Turkey and Costa Rica. Converted photo samples into a data series, data entry and management. Assisted with bird collection and banding in Red Butte Canyon.
Jim Culter, M.S. Conducted a variety of field and laboratory activities and experiments relating to the predation of and the ecological stability of Argopecten irradians, e.g., field census, environmental and water quality analysis, etc.
Performed a wide range of laboratory activities relating to the analysis of stable isotope ratios in Loxodonta africana hair and tusks using mass spectrometry, as well as manual labor.
