I have excelled at every position I have held for my various past employers. At the very minimum meeting management and business requirements. I consider myself to be an individual with a higher than average level of intelligence. I learn new systems and skills at a rapid pace in my attempt to become an independent employee wheresoever I am employed. I am also quite capable of handling a heavy physical work load compared to most. Despite my age and generation, I have a strong work ethic and belief in abiding by company policies and rules to minimize any work-place disruptions. I treat everyone with respect and I prefer to deescalate any negatively-rooted situation with a calm mind. I take pride in knowing I have done a good job and strive to climb the ranks in any organization I find myself working in.
As Unloader/Processor for Wal-Mart DC 7067, I was initially responsible for the receiving and/or shipping of various freight in the FLOW/seasonal department. Proper labeling, identification, and placement of freight for other associates was paramount. I performed this position at a very high level and rarely made any mistakes. In only six months, I was elevated to the position of team lead, where my responsibilities expanded to include directing other associates to their tasks and ensuring that daily goals were met to satisfy management and supply chain needs without ever compromising quality or most importantly, safety. In this time, I was also responsible for all movement of shipping trailers and incoming containers in various sections of the warehouse. This made adequate communication and networking with other departments in the building a must. Proper documentation and data entry into various Wal-Mart Global logistics systems and Yard management systems was required and had zero tolerance for error. I learned these systems and how to navigate them in a matter of days while consistently seeking new skills to expand my abilities and effectiveness as team lead.
Bailey Millworks is an interior and exterior door manufacturing plant in Ocean Springs, MS. Our role was to assemble interior and exterior door units for residential and commerical construction. I was initially brought in as Door puller where I would build pallets of door slabs which would set the work order for the various assembly lines of the shop. I was quickly promoted to logistics lead where I became responsible for all incoming and outgoing materials and products. I coordinated with three different department leads as well as operations management to plan deliveries and set deadlines. I was also responsible for managing our commercial drivers and their schedules dependant on business needs while managing the maintenance of the commercial fleet. I still played a significant role in most aspects of the shop, often to supervise the different lines, address employee concerns, and deescalate any unruly employees. I was also made a member of a USLBM safety counsel to identify safety concerns and brainstorm solutions.
My role as Pest control technician pertained to the proper application of pesticides, poisons, and baits to prevent any infestations of insects or rodents in predominantly sit-down restaurants. Out of nearly thirty new hires, I would finish in my training class ranked number one, winning a customized leather jacket that was considered a prestigious prize to the company. I had to adhere to strict local, state, and federal laws while applying various products to ensure maximum effectiveness while ensuring no risk to persons on the premises. Safety was of the highest concern with exposure to many of the products being extremely harmful if not fatal. I would plan my routes for the month in coordination with nearly sixty-five managers and business owners while addressing any concerns or immediate needs.
My time at AT&T was spent performing installs of satellite tv and home internet products for residential customers. I specialized in DirecTV installations and repair. I would complete training ranked at the top of my class and I never missed a required metric minimum for my entire time at AT&T. This including quality, repeat service calls, customer satisfaction, safety, driving scores, etc. I would drive my consistently well organized company vehicle to a customers residence based on a route predetermined by a routing computer. I would then either install new systems or perform needed repairs to ensure customer satisfaction. Working around electrical, plumbing, and hazmat systems was unavoidable and presented various risks. Abiding by any local ordinances and educating persons on federal communication laws was a common occurrence.
For Coca-Cola, my duties included the safe operation of a tractor-trailer semi to deliver a plethora of Coca-Cola products to small format stores. This included fueling stations, discount dollar stores, pharmacies, entertainment venues and more. Products were ordered via pre-sale by an account salesmen and would be loaded on the truck within 48 hours for delivery. Upon delivery I was tasked with the proper rotation of product to prevent expiration dates being met. I also coordinated with business management or ownership to ensure proper set up of display units per contractual obligations.
