Accomplished and award winning professional with 20 years experience in Craft Beer. I bring proven expertise in leading operations and practices from production to sales.
I am also not above mopping floors and scrubbing bathrooms.
I made the beer, canned the beer, poured the beer, talked about the beer....!
After leaving the RAM, I called my friend Travis Guterson and asked if he had a place for me at his brewery, 7Seas.
I filled a "hybrid" type roll where I poured beer in the tap room a few nights a week and spent a couple days helping wherever I was needed in the brewery.
In addition, I spent an hour or two each week on beer education. This consisted mostly of giving an "intro' beer class and tour of the facility for new (and some existing) employees as well as leading scheduled discussions on beer, beer styles, ingredients, production and techniques, sales, etc....
Loved it. Great people, great beer.
I started at the RAM in 2004 as an assistant brewer. Spent a lot of time cleaning tanks/tap lines/floors, polishing brass and washing kegs on a 3 sink set up. I also learned a ton about making beer.
By year two I was made head brewer.
The new title came with a lot more responsibilities like inventory management, costing, planning and hosting events. This is also the time I started developing beer education classes for the staff.
This all soon morphed into a production manager position where I then had more new and fun things to focus on; delivery schedules, staffing, facility management and expansion, as well as sales forecasting and production.
After a few more years I became a regional leader and oversaw our beer program at our breweries and pubs around the Puget Sound.
There was a lot of great people involved and we all constantly strove to improve, innovate, and simply make great beer to share with our friends. It was awesome.
