I have currently been employed at B&J Variety for over four years now. My main duties at this job include taking payments from customers either by cash, check, or card from customers; carry materials for the customers to their vehicles; load or unload supply trucks with bags of feed; and stock and count inventory to make sure we have the correct amount. There has been multiple instances where I have dealt with customers who have either been under the influence or drugs or alcohol and I have had to ask them to leave or at times escort them out of the store. There have been multiple occasions where I have had to call emergency medical services for customers who had emergency situations while in the store. I have worked with many new coworkers in my time all whom I have had to provide on the job training too. This training consists of how the manager prefers to store to be ran, cleaned and stocked. I have also trained new workers on how to write inventory orders and how to respond if they ever encountered a customer shoplifting. I have become proficient in my use of running a forklift during my time. I have verified accuracy of shipment orders we have received using purchase orders and invoices. I perform regular cycle counts to ensure accuracy of inventory records. I have always adhered to company policies to ensure workplace safety especially when using heavy machinery or moving large loads of inventory.
