Develop, coordinate, and conduct training for public safety personnel and trainees. Deliver classroom instruction using multiple teaching methods and instructional techniques to meet specific training needs. Evaluate and document the trainee's practical application of skills, identify deficiencies, and recommend supplemental training material. Policy Development: Identify need for policy, research viable options, coordinate meetings, and draft policy for final implementation.

DPS Terminal Agency Coordinator: Responsible for ensuring compliance with TCIC/NCIC policies and procedures for the El Paso Police Department.

Provide direction to and supervise communicators on an assigned shift. Assign, schedule, guide and monitor work. Serve as a liaison between communications management and line personnel. Appraise employee performance. Counsel, motivate and maintain harmony. Recommend hiring, discipline, termination, merit pay or other employee status changes. Enforce personnel rules and regulations and work behavior. Monitor the operation of all communications systems. Identify, troubleshoot and correct minor problems and notify technicians of equipment failures and malfunctions. Provide assistance and act as liaison with personnel of other City departments and outside agencies. Alert and brief officials on public service emergency situations of major impact.

Receive and screen 911 incoming calls for service. Dispatch and monitor police, fire and medical communications using a multi-channel radio system and enter information into computer aided dispatch system. Record and relay information to personnel in the field. Provide accurate and understandable directions to citizens, field personnel, and other law enforcement agencies and ask relevant questions to ascertain type of call for service.
