I hauled concrete product to retailers such as lumber yards throughout Nebraska and Western Iowa. I was responsible for making timely deliveries to our customers and maintain a good relationship with such customers. I was also responsible to keep the truck I drove clean and report any defects to the fleet dept that the truck may have.
I started as a janitor and bottle sorter in 1976
In 1977 I started in route sales delivering Pepsi products
In 1980 I was promoted to Route Supervisor supervising 5 Pepsi routes
In 1986 I was promoted to sales manager where I oversaw sales over ten routes that covered 14 counties in Nebraska.
In 1990 I was promoted to general manager where I was responsible for all operations at our 3 warehouses in Nebraska.
I retired from Pepsi Cola Bottling co on Dec 31 2021
over 40 years experience with tractor trailer and strait truck
As sales manager I achieved many sales goals set by the CEO and in 12 years doubled the business and increased margins.
As General manager I lowered operational costs while improving warehouse efficiency. I also lowered our fleet costs by negotiating with fuel suppliers as well as tire distributors and truck and trailer purchasing.
One of my strong points is I work well with people and I never expected an employee to do anything I wouldn't do myself including running a floor scrubber or pushing a broom. We were always a team.
