Audio Engineering - I make music! I have been studying the science of electricity, audio, and acoustics since I was 13. This lends me a number of benefits when it comes to the Controls industry:

• I tend to understand analogue systems well; every part of the signal path audio experiences, before it hits an ADC, is analogue
• I tend to understand digital systems extremely well; most of the work I do with audio is in the digital domain
• I have a unique experience and perspective in the area of working with mixed signals - both analogue and digital

Rock Climbing - I recently began rock climbing. I saw a championship for it, and decided that it would be something that I would be deeply interested in. It turns out, I was right!

• Not afraid of failure; rock climbing is many things, and one of them is difficult. I know any time I go to the gym, or to a crag, that I might just bust on the whole day. Accepting that, and even challenging the concept, is part of what makes it so fun!
• Willing to put in the work; climbing some routes can happen in one session - some other routes might take me longer than the gym has them on the walls. Either way, when something catches my attention, I will work at it until it is solved, or it is no longer available to solve.
