ESI-ENGINEERED STRUCTURE INC.

I came in on this five over 2 I.E Student Housing project late. Refered to ESI by the owners of CA Ventures under my General Contract License as an INDEPENDENT. It was my first job that I had to join another Company to help finish a project. ESI from day one made me feel like I was a part of their team. Over time, ESI allowed me to find my place with in this project by allowing me to use my communication skills to push all Subs and labor through all three phases front, middle, and backend. All Superintendents from ESI were very supportive when given me the responsibility of making sure all trades were on point for daily inspections and the confidence in me to push all Subcontractors and labor all the way through to finish, sign offs, Grand Opening. GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENT BY ALL PARTIES THAT WERE INVOLVED SEEING THIS DIFFICULT PROJECT THROUGH TO THE END.

IDENTITY/EVOLVE Student Housing

CA Ventures
03.2014 - 01.2017

Most challenging project I had to do to date, 22 million dollar project with an extremely aggressive schedule, a five over two I.E. SOG, Podium deck and five stories of wood atop of that, the first two floors being the allotted parking structure, along with recreational amenities and leasing offices next five levels (7-stories total) The wood structure consumed over 100 units of living spaces housing a total of 356 students. Biggest Challenge we're coming out of the ground late with many Structural bust to over come it seemed everyday, framing construction had many challenges being a type 5 structure having many demising walls, party walls. This along with this being the first of its kind to be constructed in Reno, the City struggled with how to inspect it made it very challenging. Yet, creating a strong team attack with the subcontractors, keeping moral high as we worked 7 days a week, the job in the end was a huge success and one of the most beautiful buildings in Reno.

  • Along with the aggressive timelines this project had a “Zero” lot line making deliveries and construction activities extremely challenging and is located on one of the busiest intersections in L.A.

  • This project consisted of 5 multi level steel structured buildings with metal stud framing and a variety of finishes with the exterior facades, It was placed on 11 acres with a stand alone parking structure
  • Being a school myself and my team had some very aggressive turnover dates with each building to meet the school schedule, The project also had someAbelia Lane very tricky landscaping challenges as well
  • The end result was an on-time turnover that was achieved largely due to having a great support staff and fantastic teamwork.
