at west fraizer sawmilll i was the edger operator, evedyday when i got in i would lock out tag out the edger and change the saws and guides. the lumber coming through went through the edger that went through a scannner telling length, thickness, and gtade going to the scsnner belt to the saws. I also had to look for cross ups, logs falling onto the edger infeed if that happens i would lock out tag out and get hoaste to get the log out and made sure to keep the rough side up on the boards smooth by the roller which has 72 sharp knifes taking 1/8 of an inch taking the rough making them smooth. I also knew how to opperate the cut off saw in which i had to watch for logs crossing or getting caught up on rolling belts while i was running the saw by using kickers to drop logs to the wall to roll on a roller and by determing the lenght then i would cut to lenght i also knew how to maitance the eger by greesing, changing knifes on the edger roller changing saws and saw guides, and fixing photo eyes when the are out of cencor lineup
