Responsible for the management of the daily operations and administrative functions of Medicine Administration, Endocrinology, Rheumatology and Artifical Intelligence in Medicine Program (AIM). The position reports to the Chairman, Department of Medicine, and the Service Line Director for Heart, Pulmonary, and Transplant Services.
Manages the fiscal management, human resources managment, recruitment, and payroll for Medicine Administration, Rheumatology, Endocrinology and AIM. As a facilitator and liaison, makes contacts internally and externally to achieve desired results consistent with the Medical Centers guidelines, practices and policies. This individual uses extensive knowledge about health care trends and the health system strategies and goals to perform management and support services for the Department of Medicine. Guides staff in meeting customer’s needs consistent with the Medical Centers philosophy, mission, vision and strategic plan and plan for provision of patient care and promotes maximum growth and development.
Responsibilities transcend across the Department of Medicine and the Health System, with administrative and operational, contractual and regulatory compliance of the Full Time Medicine Faculty. Promotes effective collaboration and teamwork among multiple disciplines. Must be able to handle sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality. Responsible for the human resources management of the administrative staff, for all faculty physicians, including HR file maintenance, annual evaluation processing, budgetary management, new hire and termination process and faculty services agreement facilitation. In addition, this individual will be instrumental in the strategic planning that is required to provide support services for new processes, projects and business plans implemented by the Dept. of Medicine as well as the Heart, Pulmonary and Transplant Services Service Line. This position is responsible for the management of sensitive and confidential information pertinent to the operations of the department and the Medical Centerand is responsible for the implementation, management and successful completion of projects as assigned. Develops, analyzes, and revises existing administrative operations and reporting documentation to achieve greater operational efficiency and cost effectiveness. Coordinates activities, develops, and implements administrative systems. Supports the department research endeavors and patient advocacy.
