I have had a robust career starting as an Emergency room ER nurse, and then as a Labor and Delivery nurse. I was promoted to Nursing Supervisor of our Obstetrics Department at a critical access hospital where I continued in management and patient care for 7 years. I then transitioned back to the Emergency Department and went back to school for my masters in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I am now board certified as a FNP. I have worked in rural family medicine seeing newborns to geriatrics for 8 years. I then completed an Urgent Care Bootcamp through hippo education and transitioned to Urgent care where I have worked for 1.5 years. With my love for acute care reingnited, I returned to school for a postmaster's certificate as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner and have completed my school requirements and will officially graduate in dec 20024 and will be eligible to sit for the ENP board certification exam. While I was an RN at Gunnison Valley Health I was nominated as a Nightingale nurse and also won the John Tarr Nursing excellence award, an award for nursing excellence voted on by peers.
