I have been a commerical beekeeper full time for 7 years which allowed me to acquire a variety of skills and attributes to transpire to a position in oil & gas. I've been accustomed to working outside in all weather conditions along with working long hours inside shops and warehouse's.

Commercial Beekeeper

  • Maintain the health and strength of a 1000 bee colonies through inspection, food, and treatments
  • Use an ibc tote with suction hoses, camlocks, an engine, gear pump pully, circulator valve, and a hose with a fuel nozzle to pump syrup into hives with feeders
  • Use power drills to mix bee medicine and to tighten bolts and screws on barrels and equipment
  • Split strong beehives to increase the number of hives
  • Add honey supers on the beehives for honey production in the spring and summer months
  • Pull off honey supers at harvest time and load them on a flatbed truck to transport them to the honey extraction facility
  • Grease extraction equipment, the moving parts on the forklift, trailer hubs, etc.
  • Extract honey frames through a motorized chain uncapper, auger, assembly line, and radial spinners
  • Melt beeswax into containers to form into blocks
  • Use a belt driven motor to pump honey into barrels and buckets to sell in bulk or small quantities
  • Inspect glass mason jars for cleanliness before and after they were filled with honey.
  • Load and strap beehives on a flatbed truck and trailer with a forklift and transport them to disperse onto bee locations in colorado and california for honey production and almond pollination
  • Inspect tire tread and check air pressure, fluid levels, and pressure wash work trucks when needed
  • Scrape out wax moth on bee frames and scrape excess beeswax from hives that died to prepare them for new hives with a hive tool
  • Dispose of diseased and infected foul brood frames
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with local landowners, securing prime locations for placing apiaries that contributed to successful honey production.
  • Build and maintain vigorous high populated beehives to establish a successful relationship and contract with almond farmers and owners for efficient pollination.

Maintenance on my dirt bike

Cleaning and inspecting the carburetor, and air filter, changing the oil, checking the air pressure in the tires, bleeding the air from the forks, lubricating the chain, repacking the silencer, making adjustments for the comfortability and safety of the motorcycle.
