- Responsible for the operation of all fire apparatus for the department. Operate the pump for fire suppression. Perform daily checks on the fire apparatus, test the pump, check fluid levels in the engine, make sure all tools are accounted for, and ensure all small engine equipment is operating properly. Perform the duties of the captain when he is not present, work with the driver and firefighter underneath me for that shift. Coordinate with other crews from the department on multi-company incidents.
