· Responsible for the Laboratory’s Technical Operations and the provision of resources needed to ensure the required quality of the Lab operation.
· Oversee the Lab’s ISO17025 Accreditation along with adding over 30 additional test methods to our ISO17025 scope and maintaining that Accreditation with annual audits.
· Responsible for scheduling along with ensuring that all employees are motivated and performing all their tasks to Intertek’s Quality Standards and the best of their abilities, making sure that all of our employees have a safe and positive work environment.
· Responsible for maintaining lab inventory and making sure we have everything that we need to provide our customers with a quality service, creating capex’s and purchase orders, maintaining the P-Card (Purchasing System) to insure we are following all of Intertek’s policies and ordering of all supplies for the lab and office.
· Responsible for being the Lab’s main contact between client’s when needed to provide quotes for our services and answering all enquiries.
· Responsible for overseeing all Laboratory Quality, calibration records, performance testing, testing reports reviews, etc.
· Responsible for overseeing all waste disposal records, hazardous waste records, radiation surveys, any compliance or regulations, making sure we have certified shippers for Dangerous Goods
· Involved in all Office Audits including Internal, Customs, Client, ISO9001 and ISO17025
· Over the last couple of months overseeing most of the Branch Managers responsibility’s in making sure our office remains in good standing.
· Responsible for the Labs Quality Program, SQC Charting, Data Gathering and Organization, creating spreadsheets and in Excel or Word for data gathering
· Maintain and calibrate all lab equipment including Flash Point Units, Atomic Absorption, Antek 9000, Thermo 3000 Chlorides and Sulfur, Distillation Units, Horiba Sulfur Analyzer, Clora, Octane Engines, Cetane Engines, Ramsbottom, Carbon Residue, Centrifuges, Density Meters, All Baths and Ovens, Etc.
· Responsible for organization and reporting of all-round robin data upon completion, also performing corrective actions and investigating any bad data generated
· Responsible for maintaining lab inventory, creating purchase orders, and ordering of all supplies for the lab and office from various vendors
· In charge of maintenance and checking the function of the safety equipment in the lab such as the safety showers, eye wash, stations, vent hoods, spill kits, etc.
· Responsible for organization and upkeep on all calibration records for all instruments, viscosity tubes, thermometers, hydrometers, tachometer, ovens, water baths, etc.
· Maintain all waste disposal records, hazardous waste records, radiation surveys for X-Ray units
·Involved in all Office Audits including Internal, Customs, Client, ISO9001 and ISO17025
· Performed numerous ASTM, UOP, EN and IP testing method for the following chemicals and petroleum base products: Jet Fuel, Diesel, Gasoline, Crude Oil, 6-Oil, Heavy Aromatic Fuel Oil, Naphtha, Slurry, EDC, Toluene, Methanol, Ethanol, Av Gas, Light and Heavy Cycle Oil, Etc.
· Utilize Computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Access for cataloging incoming samples, creating job orders, generating final analysis reports and forwarding those reports to the proper clients
· Maintain client relationships with engineers and schedules for various companies
· Responsible for Octane Engine maintenance, running various samples including high octane sample using lead, also training employees to perform analysis on the engines
· Performed analysis the Gas Chromatography using Chemstation with various ASTM and In House Methods
· Certified shipper of hazardous products
· Performed metals analysis using Perkin Elmer Atomic Absorption, ICP and Graphite Furnace
· Executed various tasks related to the making of standards and quality checks for Atomic Absorption (Metals), Antek 9000(Nitrogen and Sulfur), and Thermo 3000(Chlorides and Sulfur) and performing basic titrations to determine total acid number, H2S, bromine number, etc.
· Well versed in the Antek 9000 maintenance such as calibration, cleaning the detectors, changing membrane dryers, furnaces, thermocouples, inlet boat, multi-matrix, gas box, etc.
