West Village Academy District Chief Administrative Officer – Dearborn, Mi July 2023 to June 2025

• Authored West Village Academy’s strategic plan and created all objectives for the Board’s Strategic Plan- June 2024
• Penned the Board of Director’s Vision and Mission - June 2023
• Provided the guidance and intellectual capital for West Village Academy’s reauthorization, which was approved for five years
• Central Michigan University Kickoff session panelist for “Closing the Achievement Gap in Spite of Poverty” and “How I Created an Exceptional Testing Environment and You Can Too!”- August 2022
• Responsible for all compliance accountabilities related to contractual obligations for West Village Academy to Central Michigan University: charter authorizer.

• Academic leader of the K-8 building. Lead the initiative of integrating Restorative Practices building-wide. Developed a master schedule for instruction and preparation hours for both Elementary and Middle School. Responsible for developing current teacher and elective schedules. Also responsible for developing the school wide intervention block where all students receive at least an hour of reading or mathematics intervention. Worked with various teacher leadership groups to develop data teams and protocols for high stakes testing throughout the year.

• Supported the academy through safety and security measures for the benefit of student, staff and parental stakeholders. All discipline referrals and out of class consequences were determined by the Dean’s office. Updating the safety logs and executing fire, tornado, evacuation and active shooter drills were responsibilities that were associated with this job title. Various parental involvement centered around increased male involvement were developed in addition to above job requirements.

• Evaluated academy systems for the improvement of student academic outcomes. Invigorated community learning. Developed and supported data driven decision making through data teams and targeted student performance initiatives. Improved the culture and climate of the academic environment for student and staff interactions. Supported high expectations for students, instructional and non-instructional staff for the benefit of re-authorization and extending contractual agreement with board of directors.

• Guided School Leaders in building capacity of teachers and Instructional Coaches; Monitored implementation and evaluation of grant funded programs; Managed grants budget; Designed and facilitated professional development for School Leaders and Instructional Coaches.

• Established positive and effective relationships with staff, students and parents through clear communication concerning school policy and open communication; Supported specific administrative procedure and programs; Supported long-range plans consistent with population trends, cultural needs, and appropriate use of facilities; Created schedules for benchmark and MME/ACT assessment administration; Supported relationship development with parents and teachers; Reinforced conflict resolution protocols in concert with the Dean of Culture and Climate; Participated in implementation of district-wide professional development.
