On March 6, 2017, we were assisting with a large scale grass fire in Oklahoma. We provided protection for firefighters and citizens evacuating the river area. Being stranded with an incapacitated truck and being taken over by fire, myself with the assistance of another firefighter were able to protect our trucks and save our crew from injury or great bodily harm. We were then able to hike and lead our crew out of the area.
-Medal of Merit
On September 1, 2023, I made entry into a confined space trailer to find three unconscious patients. With assistance from firefighters outside the trailer, we were able to extract the patients from the hazardous environment to be passed along to medical care. Two of the patients survived.
