I had the opportunity to fill in this position while the sales manager filled in for a store manager at another location.
I had the opportunity to fill this position while someone was out on leave. My main duties were to make sure all signage was up to date whether it be a regular priced item, a clearance item, or an on sale item. Along with promotional signage that got done weekly. I was also in charge to run the floor when I was running the store as the GURA sales leader. Making sure that each and every customer was greeted and helped throughout their whole visit with legendary customer service. When closing my duties grew to running the floor while doing a picklist, and pallet drops when needed, along with sweeping all of the sales floor, throwing away all trash, and facing all product throughout the whole store. Once closing time hit I would count all registers and the safe and set it to the company limit so I could set up the morning deposit for the bank, along with filling out all closing paperwork.
My job was to sort DC trucks every Monday and Wednesday. We would do recovery on every Thursday and Friday. I also would do a few closing shifts each week and do a pick list, pallet drops, sweeping the floor, cleaning bathrooms, throwing out trash, and doing loadouts and propane when needed. Along with running the register for periods of time when also needed.
My responsibility's were propane, loadouts , answering phones, making paint, building equipment by Stihl, sharpening chainsaw chains and making repair's as needed, cutting and threading PVC and black pipe, lumber delivery's and pickup, and tent set up and tear downs for events, along with sorting and stocking the store on DC delivery days.
