  • I left Whitaker plumbing reluctantly because of the great individuals and security that the job provided
  • I had the opportunity to work for myself and get work subcontracted to me through my brothers company waterworks plumbing
  • As I stated I am very self motivated and was very intrigued of the idea of being paid solely on the amount of work I completed
  • I'm still currently working on projects but have begun wrapping things up in order to work on a larger more stable project and work with other individuals.

  • I was working for Waterworks plumbing in 2008 when the housing market crashed and left us with little work
  • At this point, I was a journeyman for only two years
  • When talking to our plumbing supply house, they referred me to Whitaker Plumbing
  • Because of my experience, ability and skill level I quickly became a foreman within the first year
  • At Whitaker plumbing I learned more about being a team leader, holding weekly safety meetings, RFI, change orders, Planning and coordinating with superintendents and other trades, running acid waste pipe, utilities, roof drainage, and a number of different heaters and boilers
  • I also got my medical gas endorsement on my Journenn license but ended up letting it go because of the continuing education and renewal cost
  • But I kept all the knowledge and experience I received while I worked on those projects.

  • This is where I really began to hone my craft as a skilled tradesman, as just an apprentice, I was able to complete any single or multi dwelling residential prodjectand some small commercial plumbing project start to finish

  • Also began to work as a manager or leader to other employees while coordinating with other trades
  • Extending the practice of scheduling and time management with supertindents to complete projects on time.

  • This is where I learned the basics of plumbing
  • This was my grandfathers company and I worked during the summers to make extra money
