Engineering Intern - Civil Infrastructure

  • During my time as an intern in the civil infrastructure scope, I was exposed to underground utilities, earthwork and grading operations. My daily tasks varied based on the project needs but included the following: Review and implement quality control documentation. Assist Field Engineer in drafting RFI’s and submittals. Manage subcontractors. Perform site inspections and safety audits. Create utility conflict models with superintendent to send to design engineers and city inspectors. Assist Project Manager with material takeoffs, phasing plans, material & equipment tracking. I concluded my internship working on the NBAF project in Manhattan, KS during the fall semester of 2019. My primary task was utility coordination in the interstitial area.
