Through my involvement in Kappa Sigma Fraternity and various volunteer efforts, I have developed leadership skills while dedicating my time to serving my community. These experiences reinforced the importance of teamwork and a dedication to our community.
As a member of Kappa Sigma since 2023, I have had the opportunity to take on key leadership roles that have strengthened my ability to organize, communicate, and inspire others. Serving as the Formal Chair since Spring 2023, I have been responsible for planning and executing major fraternity events, ensuring that they are both successful and enjoyable for all members and guests. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage budgets and logistics effectively.
In addition to my role as Formal Chair, I will also served as the Rush Chair for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025. This position is crucial to the growth and sustainability of our fraternity, as it involves recruiting new members that with our values and mission. Being Rush Chair requires excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to connect with potential new members and convey the benefits of joining Kappa Sigma. It also involves coordinating events and working with other Greek leaders to ensure a smooth and effective recruitment process. Through these leadership roles, I have developed a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to lead by example.
I am also deeply committed to giving back to my community through volunteer work. One of the most rewarding experiences has been my involvement with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. Over the course of 2024, I contributed 36 hours of service, assisting with food donation activities to help combat hunger in the Orlando community. This experience has provided me a sense of fulfillment and a greater understanding of the importance of community-driven solutions.
I also had the privilege of participating in Best Buddies in Florida. This organization fosters meaningful friendships between individuals with developmental disabilities, and my participation allowed me to make a positive impact while learning the value of inclusivity and compassion.
Another significant volunteer effort was my work at the Tortuga Music Festival in April 2024 and upcoming in April 2025. Over the festival weekend, I dedicate approximately 40 hours to raising money for my high school’s sports program. This experience not only contributed to a cause close to my heart but also reinforces the importance of teamwork and perseverance in a fast-paced environment.
On campus, I have been actively involved in philanthropic and awareness events such as the Kappa Delta Shakedown in April 2024, Zeta Lip Sync in October 2024, Chrismukkah in December 2024, and the Suicide Prevention Walk in March 2025.
These events have allowed me to support important causes while strengthening my relationships within the university community.
I have participated in various intramural programs at UCF including flag football, softball, baseball, floor hockey, basketball and volleyball. Sports are an important part of my life and I believe plays an essential role in bringing people together.
