- Determining the number of pounds or lineal feet of metal a customer requires per coil.
- Input the required number of feet into the appropriate computer system, and depending on how quickly we were running, the machine would automatically stop so that I could cut it in a predetermined amount of time. If the coil is ran whole, I wouldn’t stop it and cut it at the splice.
- When I'm done cutting, I input the coil's weight and length into the computer system to create a ticket so we can ship it.
- Responsible for changing the arbor that is used to wrap the metal around depending on the requirements of the company that sends the specific metal. Using a crane and after taking off the bolts of the first arbor, I skillfully move and place the secondary arbor on.
