Work History

Crew Member

Chipotle
10.2024 - Current

Working as a crew member and a closer I’ve learned how to work in a fast pace environment, navigate busy days, clean large areas efficiently, take charge when needed, deal with tricky customers, follow food safety rules, learn new tasks easily, and ultimately understand how to be the best employee you can for your job. Working on the ave, I would often deal with lines out the door during understaffed shifts. During closing shifts, I would return to my dorm past midnight and still wake up fro my 8:30 classes, ready to learn. Balancing Chipotle and my first year of College I learned how to maintain many responsibilities while always performing to my best.

  • My first official job was at Subway. Working at Subway I balanced prepping food, maintaining cleanliness, making in person and online orders, working the register, and did pre closing tasks. Given the small store, I would often work by myself for hours, understanding the responsibility of protecting the store, and setting up a productive state for my coworkers. Subway helped me learn how to deal with many different tasks, ensuring to accomplish them all by the end of the shift despite conflicts such as rushes, customer disputes or problems.

Internship

KXCI
01.2022 - 01.2024

Tucson’s local radio station KXCI is a volunteer based community show. I had an internship position where I would assist as an audio engineer editing podcasts, reviewing CDs, working as social media coordinator, helping with kids “DJ-Camp”, and being a general assistant to the station. Working here I understood how music and non-profit work helped the voices of everyone in Tucson be heard, whether it was a student, local business owner, younger children, or local musicians. KXCI not only brought people together but raised money to support our community creating events for pride, and Black Lives Matter movements.

Student Researcher

NASEP
01.2022 - 01.2023
  • I attended the Native American Science and Engineering program, a summer camp where we stayed at the University of Arizona dorms while working on hands-on learning projects, dabbling in experimental design and the scientific process. We used engineering thinking to design robots as well as each putting together a monitor. At this camp I got to collaborate with other Native American students, hoping to peruse engineering in college. This brought about a sense of community and pride for the other Native Americans in Tucson, understanding how important our education is.

Volunteer

4h Club
08.2018 - 05.2022

Volunteering at the Tucson Village Farm, I learned many skills. I would volunteer at festivals, selling hot chocolate and goods from the farm. We had the ability to help produce items for the farm, such as soaps, jewelry, art, and agriculture. HLA has such variety, I was able to work on the farm, tending to the gardens and the cows, overall building my connection to nature, community, and sustainability.
