Responsible for all Title V permit data recordkeeping and compiling such data for required State, Federal & Local agencies.

Monitor all parameters of permit compliance to prevent excursions or violations and formulate operational procedures to insure no limits or requirements are exceeded.

Oversee RCRA compliance and all Hazardous waste disposal activities.

Monitor, record and pull samples to insure compliance with the company's water permit parameters.

Primary contact for State and Federal regulators, and site trainer for local first responders.

Work with stakeholders and consultants to insure all permitted activities and permit modifications comply with regulations.

Manage and serve as trainer for the company's Hazardous Waste Worker Program.

Train new employees in Hazard Communication and serve as a qualified trainer for all onboarding.

Administer and manage the company Mobile Equipment program and oversee trainers for forktrucks, mobile elevated work platforms, front end loaders and cranes.

Served as the primary safety resource for the company's cold rolling and maintenance departments, providing knowledge and expertise. Oversee both of those departments incident and near miss investigations.

Senior member of GAI's First Responder team and serving as Chairman of the Safety Committee.

Served as the company's Incident Commander and as Operational lead for all Technical Rescue evolutions.

Implemented training, process and control changes including behavioral based safety fundamentals that allowed the company to have it's best environmental and safety performance in it's 40+ year history.

As a contractor to Suncor Energy's Commerce City Refinery Safety Department:

Oversaw all loading operations at the Asphalt Terminal and all non-fuel HazMat loading/offloading for the entire refinery complex.

This Asphalt Terminal is a 165 truck/day capacity facility, that operates 24hrs a day, 365 days per year, averaging $1,000,000 in sales per day.

Responsible for training and managing five direct reports to provide 24/7 supervision of drivers loading/offload HazMat and insure proper billing/documentation in compliance of CFR 49 regulations.

Insured driver compliance with plant safety regulations and loading procedures, and all Federal and State Hazmat regulations.

Insured Terminal compliance with all DOT, RCRA and state Hazmat regulations and reporting requirements.

Coordinated between Operations (production) and sales to manage allocation of product to customers.

Coordinated with Operations to insure inbound Hazmat used in production was correct and was delivered to the proper location.

Commanded initial response to spills and incidents in the Asphalt Terminal and activation of the refinery's Emergency Response Team as needed.

Served as part of the investigation team for all non-fuel Hazmat incidents and safety incidents in the Asphalt Terminal.

Oversaw the complete revamp of driver training and loading/offloading procedures that over a ten year span resulted in a 70% reduction in incidents and spills.

Instituted new safety procedures at the loading terminal that dropped recordable injuries to a total of 2 in a 10 year period.

In partnership with Suncor's Truck Product Movement Manager, oversaw two upgrades to the Refinery's Hazmat billing system that reduced improper/incorrect production of Bills of Lading to negligible levels. These same upgrades provided an additional savings in excess of $50K per year by allowing electronic storage of generated Hazmat BOLs in compliance with federal regulations.
