Emergency Response to Flooding on a military ship.

Petty officer Carrasco is cited for superior performance of duty while serving on board USCG hickory WLB 212 and USCG Aspen WLB208 from July 2020 to July 2023 petty officer Cross Cisco adeptly responded to flooding in the galley which filled the space with approximately 400 gallons of freshwater quickly, identifying the cause of the leak, he took initial actions to secure the flow and successfully prevented progressive, flooding, and further damage to the cutter his swift action to repair 12 inches of damage piping led to the near immediate restoration of  food service operations displaying exceptional, fortitude, and integrity. He worked tirelessly and after hours to replace both installed firefighting pumps with each pump weighing a daunting 1400 pounds he leverage superb rating proficiency to safely complete the difficult evolution providing Hickory with redundant capability to reliably combat casualties while served as senior damage control man aboard for over five months, leading the charge to train new crew members during liberty hours and contributing to qualifications of five journeyman engineers, eight damage control, petty officers and over 25 members in the basic and advanced damage control petty officer, Carrasco‘s diligence, perseverance, and devotion to duty are most here commended and are  in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Coast Guard.
