Truck Driver
White Mountain Trucking
09.2023 - Current
As a Flatbed truck driver with White Mountain Trucking, a much greater deal of responsibility is held on my behalf due to the nature of the cargo I haul and the way in which it is transported.
While the duties of driving the trucks has not changed since my time with Knight Transportation, I have had to adapt to a longer wheelbase and trailers configured differently than I had prior experience with.
I recently got my CDL (Commercial Drivers License) in May of 2023 and began my career as a Truck Driver with Knight Transportation because I had to build experience with an entry-level company prior to being presented with the opportunity to drive for a flatbed company like White Mountain Trucking.
Flatbed is very complex for a few reasons. The first reason being, our trucks are longer which means it takes more space to maneuver. The second reason being, the cargo I haul isn't secured inside a trailer wall, It is a flat trailer on which I have to ensure all cargo is secured properly.
Flatbed Drivers have a set of Federal DOT laws we have to follow with regard to cargo securement. I went through six weeks of training to gather a skillset which would not only help me adhere to federal law but also help keep myself and everyone around me safe
Truck Driver
Knight Transportation
06.2023 - 09.2023
Knight Transportation for me was a stepping stone. Whenever you enter a new career field you must start at an entry-level company. I knew I would only be there a short time because my dream was to be a Flatbed Truck Driver. I took the experience and training from Knight and applied it to my current role at WMT.
Below you will find some of the duties, regulations, and skills required by drivers such as myself that are essential to everyday duties.
Operated with safety and skill to avoid accidents and delays.
Demonstrated safe driving by following regulations and safety procedures, resulting in zero accidents.
Maintained daily, legible DOT log book and submitted corresponding documents.

Minimized delays by planning and adjusting routes to account for changing weather and traffic conditions.
Completed regular inspections and maintenance actions, as well as basic equipment repairs, to keep equipment operating at peak levels.

Monitored and managed fuel consumption and expenses for management reporting.
Certified Detention Officer
Maricopa County Sheriffs Office
03.2018 - 04.2023
As a Detention Officer with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, I was assigned to the 4th Avenue Jail throughout the entirety of my career
The 4th Avenue Jail houses the highest classifications of pretrial Detainees we housed within the jail system
This means I had to overcome adversity to solve complex problems as well as maintain the safety of the facility and the fellow officers I work with
During my career at the 4th Avenue Jail, I held positions that require me to maintain the facilities security while working with very high ranking, high risk, gang members
I had the privilege of being assigned to duty post that required me to keep track of the movements of inmates within the jail as well as external transfers of inmates between kail facilities and outside agencies.
Doing this requires a high level of multitasking and organizational skills
While maintaining the safety and security of the facility is paramount, maintaining the mental health, physical health, and well being of the inmates is equally as important
When dealing with individuals who often have tunnel vision and a dark outlook on the future, I had to keep them motivated to move forward and overcome the problems each individual is presented with
As you can imagine, motivating people with interpersonal skills as well as the lack of motivation presents a serious amount of adversity and I had to find ways to talk to each individual and find a solution that matches their goals for the future.
Store Manager
Wendys
02.2017 - 03.2018
In February of 2017, I started as a crew member working at the fast food chain, Wendy's

I was responsible for every operation in the building once I was trained and could be assigned to any duty post required of me that day
During my short time as a crew member, I learned the importance of quality of service in the customer service field and how vital it is to the operations of a business
I was promoted to a Shift Supervisor after one month of my hire which opened a great window of opportunity for me to expand my knowledge and skills of operating and supervising a very high paced work environment
As a shift supervisor, I was responsible for delegating tasks to crew members, balancing and handling all of the cash flow for the store, and maintaining the operational goals of the business
I was trained in all aspects of the business and was left as a lone supervisor on the majority of my scheduled work days due to the company entrusting me with such responsibilities
