As a Pulp Mill/ Utilities Technician, It is my responsibility to test and monitor raw materials used in the Paper making process. Such as pulp consistencies, gas strength, suspended solids in the liquors used in the process. I also do environmental and confined space gas monitoring and maintain/ calibrate the 4 and 5 gas monitors.

Performed troubleshooting and diagnosis on malfunctioning equipment. Also:

As a Paper Tester, it was my responsibility to sample and test all the structural aspects of the Paper that was produced off of 3 paper machines. Tests included TSO/TSI, porosity, opacity, caliper, formation, color/shade, sizing, ash content, tensile strength, tear strength,etc. I also assisted the Equipment Technician to maintain and calibrate the testing equipment. Also:

Ensured compliance with industry standards by rigorously following established testing methodologies and best practices.

• Maintained test environment stability by conducting regular maintenance and system upgrades, ensuring accurate testing results.
• Identified critical bugs through thorough testing processes, enhancing overall product performance.

• As a rewinder operator, it was my job to cut larger deckle logs of paper into smaller customer ordered rolls. I also was in charge of changing the cutting slitters and bells that was used in the shear cutting process. Before I left this position, I was the senior operator and trainer for new employees on the machine,
