Brandon Rodriguez

San Diego,California

Summary

I am an enthusiastic and dedicated individual with a passion for sports, leadership, and hands-on work. I am skilled in fostering teamwork and personal development in athletes and students. I have had the privilege of working in various fields, including Special Olympics as a soccer coach/referee, coordinating a leadership program for 60 middle and high school students, along getting my hands dirty in landscape services and handyman work. Because of my diverse experience, I have grown to have a passion for working with different types of people and getting to know them on a personal, rather than simply a professional level

Volunteer Projects

The Special Olympics, 04/2018 - 05/2023, As a Referee for the Special Olympics, I had the pleasure of creating an environment that advocates inclusivity, fairness, and the well-being of athletes regardless of the range of their diverse abilities. I communicate with the athletes, coaches, and officials effectively, ensuring a clear understanding of the guidelines while adapting to the unique needs of the players. I am flexible, as one needs to be when adapting and thriving under the inclusive atmosphere that allows for the best experience for these players. By prioritizing safety, I create a secure sporting experience for these players, which in most cases, is their only chance to experience the joy of playing sports competitively. It has been my privilege to referee for the Special Olympics and I hope to continue to have opportunities like that in the future.
