In pursuit of a long-term career with GP as a millwright. Adaptable millwright with a safety-driven mentality and the ability to both build and dismantle machinery. Focused, attentive, and willing to learn and grow.
Experience in troubleshooting, assembling, and disassembling mechanical parts and components using hand tools or power tools. I performed maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance. Replaced parts such as bearings, gears, and shafts, and repaired broken parts by grinding, machining, and fabricating replacement parts as needed. I have used various types of rigging to install pumps, valves, and hydraulic components. Ran pressure tests on newly installed components, such as valves, manways, and gaskets. Aligned motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors and other mechanical systems.
Moved heavy machinery and equipment using cranes, chain falls, come-alongs, and forklifts.
I began my career in the offshore oilfield as a roustabout, and worked my way up to a floorman. When starting out as a roustabout, I mainly worked with the crane operators, rigging and moving various types of tools, materials, and supplies around the rig. Handled everything from the drilling tools and helicopter fuel, all the way down to the crates of food.
I was a member of the fire team and a certified helicopter landing officer. As a floorman I was responsible for operating drilling tools such as tongs, iron rough necks, and air hoist. Also had to maintain equipment such as changing out common bolts and nuts to changing out hydraulic lines, pumps, and motors.
