- When patients come into the ED suffering from addiction we meet with them to get socio-demographic information to get a better understanding of the patient’s needs
- After identifying the patients’ needs I will then use Motivational Interviewing to help guide the person towards substance abuse treatment while also meeting the patient where they’re at
- Coordinating patients to treatment facilities, setting up IOP appointments, sending referrals, providing resources, and helping patients enroll in MAT services
