As a Peer Coach I work on all floors at HMH including the Behavioral Health Unit meeting with patients to provide any support needed.
When patients come into the ED suffering from addiction we meet with them to get socio-demographic information to get a better understanding of the patient’s needs.
After identifying the patients’ needs I will then use Motivational Interviewing to help guide the person towards substance abuse treatment while also meeting the patient where they’re at.
Coordinating patients to treatment facilities, setting up IOP appointments, sending referrals, providing resources, and helping patients enroll in MAT services.
Running daily groups seven days a week in the Behavioral Health Unit.

I was brought in to help create ‘The Clubhouse’ program from the ground up.
In order to provide optimal support for these adolescents and their families, I completed many trainings that are available upon request.
A program to support adolescents ages 12 to 17 and their families in the Harford County area who are impacted by or at risk for substance use disorders.
Providing resources and support to families and teaching parenting skills is an essential part of the program.
