• My job duties as an on-site contract Technician included providing inspection assistance for all unit area inspectors completing work assignments and reporting, taking ultrasonic thickness measurements, daily and during turnarounds, Also working Mechanical Integrity project for plant, Reading Isometric drawings, Walking down piping.
• Inspections consisted of Visual, Ultrasonic thickness, Magnetic particle, and Dye penetrate.
• Visually examined materials, structures and components for signs of corrosion, metal fatigue and cracks.
• Conducted liquid penetrant tests to locate surface cracks by coating objects with fluorescent dyes, cleaning excess penetrants and applying developers.
• Studied project instructions and specifications, asking questions and addressing concerns before testing began.

• Performed liquid dye penetrant tests on piping and vessels to inspect for discontinuities and cracks.
• Identified defects in pressure vessels or other piping using visual examination.
• X-ray piping using Digital Radiography and Conventional methods.
• Perform magnetic particle testing, WFMT, Dry particle.

Performed NDE during initial inspections and repairs on the 2020 Valero three rivers outage, Equipment examined internal and external were exchangers, reactors, towers, furnaces, knockout drums, etc..

My job tasks were

• Perform 100% NDE on the external of the vessel, taking thickness readings on the assigned cml locations, and dye penetrant testing on all gasket surfaces. Internal NDE consisted of dye penetrant testing on all pressure retaining welds or wet florescent magnetic particle testing depending on material. Each relevant indication was marked and documented followed by a detailed report to turn in for review by the authorized inspector.
• Additional NDE was done on the repairs following the findings of both inspector and myself (technician).
