  • Established Friends-Houston nonprofit (501c3) as first of its kind paid professional mentoring model in Houston, Texas to serve children at-risk of, and experiencing, the Friends-Houston is a non-profit organization (501c3), the first of its kind in Houston, Texas, that provides paid professional mentoring services to at-risk children and those who are experiencing the child welfare system. As the leader of this organization, I established its strategic direction focused on long-term growth and sustainability. I secured funding for the organization's initiatives through successful grant writing and fundraising efforts. Additionally, I managed a diverse team of professionals, fostering a collaborative work environment to drive progress and achieve results. I facilitated board meetings to provide updates on organizational performance, address emerging challenges, and seek guidance for critical decisions. Finally, I built relationships with donors, government officials, and other organizations to secure funding and support for the organization.child welfare system.
