· Facilitate a battery of tests to measure the functioning of the autonomic nervous system.
· Measure heart rate and blood pressure of patients exposed to various stimuli.
· Perform sympathetic skin response tests and record galvanic responses from the skin.
· Prepare patients for autonomic testing and explain procedures to ensure understanding.
· Set up patient rooms with necessary equipment before testing.
· Perform autonomic tests and record observations in real time.
· Maintain proper scheduling in conjunction with the scheduling department.
· Provide patients with pre-appointment paperwork and answer questions prior to appointments.
· Maintain proper supply levels and order additional testing supplies as needed.
· Enter test result data accurately to be reviewed by aCardiologist.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or Director.
· Provides technical support for the acquisition of a cardiac tracing needed to diagnose or rule out cardiac disease in the form of, ECG 12 and 15 leads, Event Monitor, Holter Monitor, telemetry, or autonomic function testing
· Help make assignments for other patient care techs for the floor and rotated assignments as needed
· Help train and educate new staff on policies and procedures and ensure orientation checklist is completed
· Work with doctors and nurses and provide technical support for patient care.
· Help with resuscitation/CPR and emergency airway procedures.
· Obtain and document a patient’s vital signs and assist with placement of oxygen saturation, blood pressure monitoring and cardiac monitoring.
· Collect blood samples, tissue or other laboratory specimens, preparing them for testing
· Assist with positioning patients, applying orthopedic dressing and splints.
· Measuring and fitting canes and crutches and teaching patients how to use them.
· Assisting with administrative duties such as patient transfers and discharges.
· Making sure that the correct documentation inputted into patient’s chart.
· Helping with checking in patients into the Emergency department to be seen by a provider.
