Patient-oriented nursing professional with several years of hands-on experience in delivering quality direct and indirect patient care to individuals in settings. Skillfully completes tasks and fosters relationships with patients, caregivers and coworkers to drive patient care goals and advance nursing philosophies.
I started my career at Mayo Clinic, working full-time as a facility float. I became experienced in numerous departments, including urology, sleep medicine, family practice, pediatrics, orthopedics, podiatry, OBGYN, internal medicine, and occupational medicine. After a year of enhancing my nursing skills with the knowledge I obtained, I decided on a permanent position in occupational medicine.
My duration in occupational medicine included assisting in DOTs, pre-employments, workers' compensation, refugee physicals, pre-anesthesia medical examinations, pulmonary function testing, and the travel clinic. I stayed in that position for two years before transitioning to Express Care, where I currently work.
At Express Care, I do all the ordering, whether it's vaccinations or the supplies we use to care for patients. We see roughly 33 patients in a 12-hour span, in 20-minute intervals, for acute care visits. I am trained to perform QCs on our laboratory equipment. Some of the tests I perform daily are urine dips, urine cultures, pregnancy tests, vaginitis panels, and STI, strep, flu, COVID, and pertussis swabs. We also do sports physicals and nurse visits that involve cerumen impaction removal, strep tests, vaccinations, and Mantoux placements.
I have been asked to orient multiple new employees. I am experienced, compassionate, efficient, educated, patient, positive, empathetic, motivated, responsible, and reliable.
