My primary role in this position was to lead and guide the members in the Dash 21 aircraft configuration section. I was charged to train and mentor the NCO's, take corrective action to guide the shop in general improvement, develop new processes, and streamline processes for aircraft reconfiguration.
As a Flight Line Expediter I managed the work of all shift technicians for the KC-10 Aircraft. I monitored the flying and maintenance schedules that would have to be rectified, met, and coordinated for mission accomplishment. I translated the direction of Production Superintendents into tactical work. I supervised, prioritized, planned, and coordinated the daily work of shift technicians. I assisted technicians with direction, discipline, and motivation on a daily basis.
Managed section training, safety and discipline; oversaw 246 maintenance technicians from 5 different career fields.
Provided technical advise on maintenance and safety matters for 16 KC-135 and 3 C-37 Special Air Mission aircraft. Office of Primary Responsibility for OSHA standards, Regulation and Publication approval
authority, weight and balance, and more.
Accompanied aircraft on missions away from home station. I was responsible for the continued flight, daily inspections, and servicing of the aircraft while on the road. A fully qualified technician, I lead a team of three mechanics while en-route from station to station and on the ground.
Information center for all things maintenance. I coordinated with multiple agencies to include flight line production, Group Leadership, Headquarters, and US Centcom, both on and off station, to report and communicate the location, status, fix times, total availability, fuel loads, and configuration of our fleet.
