Fire Duties. Aided in the construction of fire line by scouting ridges, completing hand tie ins, and driving a pilot vehicle to ensure rapid and safe transport of dozers and associated emergency equipment.

• Non Fire Duties Heavy equipment and light duty vehicle maintenance. Fire road repairs using motor graders, bulldozers,chainsaws, and pole saws; fuels projects using excavators and disc tractor.
• Communicated effectively with command staff during emergency operations.

• Attended trainings to maintain wealth of knowledge in firefighting techniques and suppression methods, enabling quick decision making during actual emergencies.

• Aided in the construction of fire line acting as a sawyer and completion of fuel reductions around the community of Frazier Park.

• Cared for and doctored livestock, relocated and marked livestock.

• Removal of dead and dying trees to create a covered fuel break.

• Limited exposure to procedures and paperwork related to day to day operations in the fire department.
