New Ulm Back Ground

Growing up on a small farm in New Ulm, Minnesota instilled in me a deep sense of pride and appreciation for hard work and community values. As a graduate of New Ulm Public High School, I have always felt a strong connection to my hometown and its rich history.

Now attending the University of North Dakota, I am grateful for the opportunities that my upbringing in New Ulm has afforded me. I am passionate about supporting and giving back to the town that shaped me into the person I am today.

Whether it's volunteering at local events, participating in community service projects, or simply spreading positivity within the town, I am dedicated to making a difference in New Ulm. The tight-knit community and vibrant culture of New Ulm hold a special place in my heart, and I am committed to preserving and enhancing them for future generations.

My experiences in this wonderful town have shaped me into a responsible, compassionate individual who is eager to contribute to the greater good.

Leadership Skills

I have dedicated the past year to serving as the Recruitment Chairman for Sigma Nu fraternity. During this time, I have worked tirelessly to identify and recruit high-quality individuals who align with our values and principles. Through outreach efforts and personal communication, I have connected with numerous potential recruits, highlighting the benefits of joining our fraternity.

One of my key achievements includes organizing a successful Rush Week event, which attracted over 100 students interested in learning more about Sigma Nu. This event played a crucial role in securing the largest recruitment class in our fraternity's history, coinciding with our recent 100-year anniversary celebration.

In addition to my recruitment efforts, I play an integral role in shaping the future direction of our fraternity through active participation in executive meetings and decision-making processes. My input and vote are valued by my peers as we work together to uphold the traditions and values that define Sigma Nu.

Overall, I am proud to have contributed significantly to the growth and success of our fraternity during my tenure as Recruitment Chairman. I look forward to continuing to make a positive impact on Sigma Nu and its members in the years ahead.

During my time as the captain of my hockey team for both junior and senior year, I gained invaluable experience and insight into what it takes to be a successful leader. This role not only helped me develop strong communication and decision-making skills, but also taught me the importance of leading by example and earning the respect of my teammates.

As captain, I learned that being a great leader is about more than just giving orders or making decisions; it's about inspiring and motivating others to perform at their best. I strived to create a positive and inclusive team environment where everyone felt valued and supported, regardless of skill level.

I also discovered the significance of building strong relationships with my teammates, coaches, and other stakeholders in order to effectively communicate goals, expectations, and feedback. By fostering open lines of communication and listening to the needs and concerns of those around me, I was able to lead by consensus rather than dictatorship.

Overall, my experience as captain taught me that true leadership is not about individual success or recognition, but rather about empowering others to succeed and achieve their full potential. It has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the qualities of humility, empathy, integrity, and resilience that are essential for any great leader.
