Shadowing
- In the Summer of 2025, I accompanied two anesthesiologists from the Duke Medical Center to Accra, Ghana, where we were able to deliver several suitcases full of medical supplies, ranging from gauze pads to high dollar machinery, to multiple under privileged hospitals, including a high-risk children's hospital. We also delivered school supplies, clothes, toys, and candy to an orphanage.
- 60 hours of shadowing experience, shadowing various doctors, a witnessing a wide variety of procedures including a heart transplant from the helicopter to the patient, 12 epidurals, four emergency cesareans, multiple robotic surgeries, and a breast reconstruction. I am even more determined to become a doctor after this incredible opportunity. I am considering cardiology, orthopedic surgery, and anesthesiology.
