  • Providing daily education on medications, tracheostomies and ventilator management, gastrostomy and jejunostomy tubes, patients with recent transplants, and minimally aware programs designed to assist traumatic brain injury patients the time to heal in a positive healthy quiet environment.   • Staff RN Neonatal ICU; Premature and critical infants needing immediate medical attention, I was responsible for ventilator management, monitoring vital signs, accurate intakes and outputs and obtaining daily labs from heel sticks, or UAC or UVC lines, I worked with physicians or nurse practitioners caring for the newborn, supporting and educating mothers about their baby’s diagnosis, how breastfeeding was important, and answering their questions regarding their premature and critically ill newborns. Responsible for care and maintenance of PICC lines, broviac lines and PIV's. Hanging of critical medications, and responsible for infants that were suffering from neonatal abstinence withdraw.

  • 11 years of adult acute intensive care experience, record symptoms and changes in patients conditions and information to the physician, order, interpret and evaluate diagnostics tests to identify and assess the patient’s condition, I was responsible for ventilator management, cpap, bipap, responsible for CRRT, balloon pump, multiple vasoactive drips, including levophed, dopamine, amiodarone, Cardizem etc. I was responsible for recovering patients from OR after hours related to surgeries such as AAA, cardiac Cath with external pacemaker insertion, SBO, ruptured esophageal varices, upper and lower GI bleeds, ruptured appendectomies, emergent hysterectomies, cardiac ablations and encephalopathy, TIA’s, Strokes and TURP’s, COPD, and end stage renal disease. The intensive care center included the 14 bed ICU but also included a step down cardiac monitoring area that we floated in between. Continual observation of critically ill patients. Actual time documentation. I was requested to start PIV’s through out the hospital for difficult vascular access.
