In Dr. Kovacs's lab, I've had the opportunity to learn various biochemical lab techniques.
These include expanding cell cultures, protein purification, bacterial plate preparation, and data analysis from scientific equipment such as FPLC and BLITZ.
The research focused on complement receptor 2 and its role in immune responses and viral infections.

As a Library Student Assistant I, my responsibilities included assisting patrons with finding library resources, managing and organizing library materials, checking books in and out, and helping with library events and programs

S.T.E.M. Club Vice President

As the Vice President of the S.T.E.M Club at Taft College, I would work alongside the President to prepare and organize programs that would benefit the club and the community.
Our mission was to encourage others to pursue an interest in career paths within STEM.
This included volunteering for events, including the 2019 Kern Energy Festival at the Kern County Museum.
At the same time as being a VP for the club, I pursued forming a robotics club.

Under the direct supervision of a physician and site trainer, I have participated in on-the-job training as a Medical Assistant student.
Here, I obtained the patient's vital signs, charted their information, communicated with the patient, and ensured that the doctor received their data.
I also cleaned and prepped exam rooms, and assisted the physician as needed.
