I am a highly motivated and engaging dancer and teacher who showed early signs of natural talent, which earned me a position in the children’s cast with the Joffrey Ballet Production, The Nutcracker. I jumped right into competing when I was seven years old. I continued through my high school years until graduation. While in high school, I showing a strong technical member of the Orchesis team. I simultaneously trained with world renown ballet professionals, Avnun Yakubov and Watmora Casey.
Once getting to college, I majored in dance for three years. I took classes such as modern, ballet, anatomy, music theory, ballroom dance, dance production and much more. I did major performances all three years with the dance department, as well as belonged to a dance club with dance performances each semester. I went to graduate school for clinical psychology and combined love for psychology with dance. I was in a dance movement therapy program, where I studied the foundations of dance movement therapy, laban movement analysis, and neuroscience of embodied presence. I taught dance classes intermittently through the years and choreographed several dances throughout high school and college.
My favorite styles to teach are contemporary, jazz, and ballet. I want my students to know that while technique is very important for the foundations, movement can tell a story and express what you feel inside.
