Teaching

  • I retired early in July 2023 with 18 years of teaching experience at Highlands Juvenile Detention Center. I taught multiple grade levels of language arts, reading, multiple social studies courses, and life skills. I was experiencing health problems which made doing my job difficult. I felt it was in the best interest of myself and my students to take early retirement. Since retiring on July 1, 2023, I have worked with my doctors to get my medications at the correct level and I am now feeling much better and would love to return to teaching. My medical issues are under control with proper medications and dosages. I have been working part-time at Walmart as a digital shopper with no physical limitations. However, I truly miss working with students and want to return to teaching. I miss using my creativity to help students learn and I know I can be a positive impact in student learning. I would appreciate the opportunity to return to public school teaching.
