Warehouse Manager

  • Every day I open the warehouse, then we start letting the installers come in and grab their job materials for the jobs for that day
  • The materials they are picking up are the ones I had staged and gotten ready for them the day before
  • After they are gone I head to my desk and start working on sending the corporate office the purchase orders from the deliveries from the day before
  • I get deliveries every day and I am responsible for labeling the skids/deliveries accurately and getting the right paperwork from the driver
  • Part of my job also includes making up the paperwork for the installers, that include floor plans and sizing sheets so that they can do their installation
  • Out of that paper work I make up, I also use that to get jobs ready for them
  • On the morning when we give the installers their materials and send them on their way, once they leave and after I have sent the purchase orders to corporate, I start shipping the jobs that went out the day before so they get billed correctly
  • A couple times a month we do inventory and so it's critical that I and sometimes the field reps keep track of all materials that go out to have accurate inventory count
  • It's important that I have great communication with everyone from the drivers to the installers to the field reps
  • And it definitely helps that I’m bilingual, most installers speak Spanish
  • Lastly throughout the day I work to keep the warehouse as clean as possible, and I’m always looking to work on something, even getting ahead on things for two days ahead

  • I work in the warehouse making sure everything is organized and easy to get to for different installation jobs
  • I label and separate things based on jobs and when they will be loaded into the trucks
  • I receive shipments and using the hand jack and forklift I organize them
  • I also load up trucks for the jobs for that day and the following day
  • I also cut wood for decking plans for different jobs
  • When working out in the field installing, I make sure I am on time to the job sites and have all tools needed
  • We work as a team to complete installation jobs for government buildings in DC and Virginia

  • I make sure that my job is done well and in a timely fashion
