Work History

Operator Services

SSM DePaul Hospital
12.2015 - Current

I answer the phone calls both internal and external for the hospital. I have excellent customer service skills, and I keep in mind at all times that, for many people, I am the first person they speak to who is representing our hospital. I also announce Emergency Codes over the hospital intercom system, and page out the various Code Calls so that the team members for that Code can be alerted to where they need to go to assist the patient. I contact various professionals throughout my shift, such as Pastoral Care, Case Management, and Social Work. I aid the nurses, doctors, and technicians in the Emergency Department and on the patient floors in contacting the professionals they need to provide service to the patients. I see my role primarily as one in Public Relations. I enjoy the position I have, and I feel that my unique personality strengths are utilized in this position.

I enjoy reading memoirs, biographies, true crime novels, and mysteries of almost any kind. I love to travel, and have been to a few different countries and have plans to travel much more after retirement. I hope that I never close myself off to new experiences, as I feel that is one of the things that makes life exciting.
