- Started out cutting, bending & brazing copper for the refrigeration packages, in the refrigeration department. (6 months) Then got promoted into the Test Lab.
- Testing & Repairing all type 1 and type 2 commercial appliances.
- Ensuring they are Hipot and function tested before each test making sure all components work as they should and there are no electrical faults.
- Testing includes making adjustments to the TXV for a more efficient superheat and sub-cooling, monitoring pressures and temperatures with the computer systems ensuring the systems ran as designed with no issues. For example -Restrictions within the system that could cause high head pressures and potentially damage components like the compressor.
- Adding and recovering refrigerant when needed, with standard manifold gauges and scales.
- Replacing any faulty components like Compressors, Txv's, Filter dryers, Condensers, Evaporator coils Etc. As well as Electrical components.
- Job duties also included pulling each system into a vacuum test too hold under 300-500 Microns to ensure all contaminates & non condensables are removed and no leaks are present, then charging each system with the required amount of refrigerant.
- Working with management & engineering teams, to resolve issues and coordinate product flow.
