- Brenden also had the privilege to be a team leader and at times, acting squad leader to some great young men
- Brenden was trained to be his platoon's radio operator, an automatic rifleman and (unofficially) cross-trained in several other skillsets by reaching out to the personal network he established while serving in the Marine Corps
- Brenden was recognized in front of his company for graduating as the Honor Graduate of his battalion's Prep Course to the Advanced Infantryman's Course (AIC)
- He was later tasked to be an armed guard protecting key strategic locations on Okinawa
- Furthermore, Brenden was certified as a member of a Security Augmentation Force in the United States Marine Corps where he was instructed and certified on various use(s) of force to include; non-lethal & lethal force(s), riot control training, being O/C sprayed in order to have first-hand knowledge to the capabilities and limitations of O/C spray as a non-lethal tool as well as numerous other skillsets.
